Good Vibrations Bash feat: Protex, VX, Echo Raptors and others. Belfast 20/04/2013
'Good Vibrations Bash' - Record Store Day - 20.4.13. @ (The New 'Good Vibrations' Shop) with Protex, VX, Courtney Maree McCann, Echo Raptors, Morgan McIntyre, Kaz Hawkins (+ a couple of unexpected surreal turns ??)
'Good Vibrations' the shop has risen once again, and that makes it an amazing eleven times in its 35 year history.
Basking in the glory of his box office busting and critically acclaimed bio pic, its safe to say that the global profile of the man at the centre has never been higher.
And apart from Europe, far away destinations including Russia & the USA have fallen for the many charms of this little homespun movie's take on a very significant moment in NI punk history .
товарищ 'Terri Hooley' was in great form tonight and literally beaming with pride as he mingled, posed and nattered with the gathered throng of press / media (filming the final piece for a future BBC 'One Show' feature), various band members past & present (Outcasts, Defects, Snow Patrol, Protex, SLF, Ex Producers, VX etc), plus his army of friends and acquaintances who were out in force and determined to kick off his latest business venture with a well deserved boozy and successful launch party.
The place was packed to the rafters, and resembling a boiling hot suana up on the first floor.
Tonights running order was pretty non existant, and all the acts were left to their own devices to sort it out whatever way they wanted to proceed. They all performed stripped down unplugged sets, with the not normally so laid back Protex & VX showing they could do the business just as well acoustically without that jolt of electric overload .
There was no rambling speeches or tipsy shenanigans from the 'Hooleygan' this evening, It was his night and 'Terri Hooley' was on his best behaviour.
He kept his time behind the mic short and humorous, and unbelievably he was the perfect host.
An excellent night, which continued over the road at the Hudson Bar well into the wee small nours.
Best of luck 'Terri' from everyone for the future.
