SLF + Spear Of Destiny + Protex - live @ Ulster Hall, Belfast, 16/11/12
SLF on 16th November in Ulster hall provided a brilliant night’s entertainment for all. The crowd were great, its always a cracker atmosphere and its lovely to see all the 40+ (?) gathered in their slogan t-shirts with a little more body weight and a little less hair than years gone by. The atmosphere was just brilliant when The Stiffs started off with Wasted Life and the crowd loved it and it kept getting better as they played all the old anthems and did the usual set of encores which kept us all going right until the end. Their energy and stamina, as usual, never failed throughout the set.
It was a brilliant gig and still included the pogo dancing, belly slamming (and indeed beer throwing of years ago with Suspect Device), I think the security guys got a bit of a shock- but what were they expecting at an SLF gig!
SLF are as good as ever and Jake Burns was brave with his frankness in introducing ‘ All My Dark Places’ which was appreciated by many who suffer from depression.
The support act ‘Spear of Destiny’ were definitely not to my taste, Protex should have been on second so the whole crowd could have appreciated just how good they are! I enjoyed them more than the Stiffs! There were not many in at that early stage but they missed a great show from them. Great night out had by all, Hanx!
