Home For A Bear
@ Warzone Centre, Belfast, 08/12/12
This was a small but select (lol) get-together, secretly organised by 'Petesy Burns' (The Outcasts) for Belfast rockabilly legend and pal to everyone 'Phil (The Bear) Long'. The big guy was the victim of an unprovoked attack last saturday night on his way home from the excellent 'Kicking Up A Racket ' gig at the 'Black Box'.
Fortunately he suffered only minor injuries, but he is still in pain and pretty shook up following the assault. Happily he seems to be on the mend, and was genuinely surprised when he entered the venue and saw everyone gathered there in 'The Warzone' in his honour.
The whole point was to get him out of the house, and just to let him know he's got a lot of friends who care.
I think its safe to say that was sucessfully achieved, and the smile never left his face.
Check out the photos attached, taken by photographer ' Mark Mullan' and 'Big Jim Gilso'.
